Roatan Mission is a 501c3 Organization and our family has been in Honduras for over 5 years serving in a variety of ministries. Over the years, we have developed friendships and partnerships with what we feel are the best of the best ministries. Below are some of the recommended ministries we partner with and that your team or family can assist while serving in Roatan:

Low Cost/Free Clinic – Clinica Esperanza

Clinica Esperanza provides Christian-based low-cost/no cost medical care to the people of Roatan. At the medical clinic and hospital, people can receive services from the walk-in medical clinic, women’s health center, pediatrics, birthing center, dental clinic including a laboratory and pharmacy. The clinic also provides outreach clinics, community health education programs, and school health screenings for vision and oral health.

The Clinic is located in Sandy Bay and all people are welcome. The Clinic treats approximately 80-100 patients in a typical day usually about 60% adults and 40% children. It operates five days per week, starting at 7:30am until 6:00pm. More than 3,500 patients consider the Clinic to be their primary medical care provider. Thus far, more than 65,000 patients have been treated in the Clinic.

Due to the limited number of medical facilities available, patients have come from all over the island and the mainland to seek treatment or medications The Clinic provides a needed service to people who would otherwise likely not seek treatment due to costs and the crowded condition of the local public hospital.

 

Roatan Rehab – Jesus is the Solution

We need your help to continue to grow the new Alcohol & Drug Rehab Center on Roatan. This center provides a 90 day Christ-centered rehabilitation program based in Mudhole. Dylon Price is the Director of the program and was saved from a 25 year Crack Cocaine addiction by the power of Jesus. God is working in Roatan but we need your help. You can sponsor a student for $250 per month or do a partial sponsorship. Please pray about a one-time or monthly donation below. There are currently twelve students enrolled in the program.

The Rehab currently can hold a maximum of 6 people. They have 12 in the space right now and many more wanting to come in. The opportunity to purchase a 1/2 acre of land behind the Rehab has presented itself and the leadership feels that God has provided an opportunity to expand the rehab to handle up to 30 students get freed from their addictions. Over 60 men and women have been set free through the program in the first year and a half alone. FAST FACTS ABOUT THE LAND PROJECT: • $22,500 has been raised to date so far for the purchase and we are waiting on final papers for the land to complete. We estimate a need of around $60,000 to complete the site prep and buildings. Please pray with us as we seek His favor and blessing to provide for the last, the least and the lost!

Orphanage – Sandy Bay Lighthouse Ministries

Sandy Bay Lighthouse Ministries is non-profit, non-denominational, Christian organization. currently caring for 26 children from 2 years to 16 years old. They exist to address the needs of the underprivileged people of Roatan by providing a loving, safe shelter for at-risk children; a quality bilingual Christian education to prepare children for a secure future; and to facilitate short-term, life-changing ministry opportunities for small groups. Their vision is to expand our current ministries through accommodating additional children, expanding enrollment in our Beacon School and hosting additional teams.
